Your Most Played Song of 2013: Technically my top song is Savages' "She Will", but a few of those plays were for professional purposes. The real winner is "Loretta's Flowers" by Swearin'. I am a #sadgirl, and this song is so complex and simple at the same time that it's perfect for playing on loop when you're doing some extreme nighttime emoting. (For the record, please know that I am OK.)

An Old Album I Discovered/Rediscovered This Year: This technically happened last holiday season, but I renewed my obsession with Joni Mitchell's Blue this year. Seriously a perfect album (even if "The Last Time I Saw Richard" is an odd denouement for "River" and "Case of You") that fulfills the "album you sing along to when you're alone in the apartment" criteria. (Seriously, I am OK, I swear.)

Musical HighlightsSeeing Ke$ha and Pitbull perform on a glorified tabletop at the Golden Nugget casino in Atlantic City. Seeing for the first time and subsequently doing karaoke with Devon Welsh and Matthew Otto of Majical Cloudz. Skipping down Atlantic Avenue as a full-grown woman listening to Haim's Days Are Gone. Beyoncé's flow on "Yoncé"/"Partition."

Musical Lowlights: Being asked my thoughts on Miley Cyrus approximately one thousand times. Every time I caught myself humming along to "Blurred Lines" at H&M or in the back of a cab. Severely underestimating the capacity of Silent Barn and the popularity of Salinas Records, and subsequently getting shut out of the label's anniversary show and (sob) missing the mini-reunion of P.S. Eliot. (This was the Brooklyn equivalent of being the family dog left out in the snow on Christmas.)
