The Beyoncé Lemonade Merch of Our Dreams, Realized

Beyoncé’s Lemonadecontains multitudes: It’s a journey through infidelity told from the perspective of the betrayed, a testament to the power of black womanhood, a post-genre experiment from pop’s most interesting star, and one of 2016’s best albums to date. It’s also a brilliant piece of modern commerce; as Bey urges at the end of “Formation,” the “best revenge is your paper.” Though Beyoncé has seemingly operated under this belief for some time now, she took its practice to new heights with the merch surrounding her 2013 self-titled. She encouraged the ongoing meme-ification of her most quotable lines by selling sweatshirts emblazoned with “Surfboard," “Flawless," and other slogans. Bey’s official “Formation” merch got even more creative in this sense, and while we wait for new official merch based on the rest of Lemonade, Pitchfork took the liberty of dreaming up a few items we’d definitely cop from the merch table at Bey’s Formation World Tour.

(Lyric from "Sorry," Rachael Ray controversy via the internet's stupidity

(Front lyric from "Single Ladies," back lyric from "Sorry")

(Inspired by "Hold Up" video and chorus; baseball bat by Warstic, which is co-owned by "Don't Hurt Yourself" collaborator Jack White)

(Lyric from "6 Inch")

(Need we say more?)
